It's been a while since I've made updates to the blog...but there's a good reason! I've actually been super busy trying to switch my website over to a new format, and, with no knowledge of Wordpress, I've been slowly chipping away at this task viewing tutorials and reading lots of instructions....but, with most of the changes made now, I really like how things look! We certainly have enjoyed a beautiful fall this year! I'm thankful that the pretty colors have lasted as long as they have...though I can tell that things look a bit more brown now (sigh). Everything still looks beautiful though, and it was so nice to meet the Gorczowski family in downtown Frankfort for a fall photo session! It's always fun to find a beautiful new spot for family photo sessions! The chosen location this past weekend was totally new to me, and I wonder if I would have ever found it if the Swedko family had not suggested it. Though it's just off busy Boughton Road in Bolingbrook, Hidden Lakes Trout Farm is quiet and serene - with several ponds, a nature path, and a beautiful wooden bridge that goes all the way to Naperville. It was awesome to see our old neighbors for a photo session the other day...AND meet their newest little boy! What a little doll. I remember when they had no kids!! Now - it's beautiful to see how this family has grown. When we get together with our families for birthday parties or summer BBQs, things are often really busy and we don't think - or get the chance - to get everyone gathered together for a good family picture...one that includes everyone - grandparents, their kids and the grand kids. It was so nice to see and catch up with the Raatjes family a couple of days ago! We met at lovely Pilcher Park in Joliet. Though it felt like near 100% humidity that evening and there were mosquitoes biting us at every moment, it was a great spot to both catch up with these old friends and take some family pictures! Yesterday was the last day of summer vacation here in New Lenox IL. My three kids are actually happy to go back, and I'm sure the reason for this is that they're excited to see all their school friends again!My youngest, Benny, has a great little friend who was his seat partner last year on the bus.
