The Grice Family – Family Photos in a Naperville Forest Preserve
Remember my good friend Courtney? I follow her on Instagram and one day last year, I was thumbing through my feed when I came across a post where she was asking everyone to pray for her best friend’s 13-month old baby boy. He had a stroke…yes, a stroke. I never thought something like that was even possible for a baby. At the time, his prognosis was uncertain. Doctors were not sure if he would ever regain the strength to sit up, or walk, or even use the right side of his body. Of course, when the request for prayer went out, so many people began to go to God on his behalf – and for his mom and dad who were shocked and frightened at the news of what had happened to their baby.
The good news? Well, in addition to his promise to walk through the valleys of our lives WITH US, God still heals. And things that look impossible in our eyes are not impossible for Him.
This is the update this beautiful boy’s mom later wrote:
“…we literally *felt* the power of your prayers as we watched our son – who could not even sit up yesterday, because he barely had the core strength of a 4 month old- suddenly be able to sit up unassisted, and even begin to pull himself to standing again.”
I really rejoiced when I read that update. I had not met this family when I originally read the prayer request, but I was excited to meet them in person a few months later for their family photos in Naperville. The older boys were so fun and talkative…we enjoyed some great conversations as we walked from spot to spot! I loved it. All in all, this family was awesome, and I loved getting to meet the handsome little guy – now healthy and strong – who so beautifully showcased God’s healing power.
